Professor of Clinical Pharmacology, LMU Munich

Stefan Endres (born 17 June 1957 in Augsburg) is a German physician and immunologist. As Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Director of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the University Hospital of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), he has made significant contributions to the immunotherapy of cancer.

After studying at LMU Munich and Harvard University (B.A. magna cum laude in Biochemistry and Immunology), he received his doctorate in medicine in 1984. His research focuses on various approaches to the immunotherapy of cancer.

In 2020 he was awarded the Robert Pfleger Research Prize for his scientific achievements. He served as a member of the supervisory board of LMU University Hospital from 2006, as Research Dean of the Medical Faculty from 2007, and as speaker of several research programmes, including from 2015 the international doctoral programme “i-Target: Immunotherapy of Cancer”, until his retirement in 2025. Since 2025, Stefan Endres has continued to work as a strategy consultant for the Medical Faculty of LMU Munich and for LMU University Hospital, and he chairs the Scientific Commission of the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung.
